WHAT DOES THE WORD LACHRYMOLOGY MEAN?
Lachrymology literally translates to ‘the study of crying.’
WHAT ARE THE FUNDAMENTAL PRACTICES OF THE RELIGION?
Lachrymology takes seriously the notion of trials and tribulations, and believes that, toward that end, we are all meant to endure suffering, but not needlessly; contrastly, Lachrymology teaches that only through the acceptance, experience, embracing, processing, and overcoming of mental, emotional, and physical pain, can one grow spiritually, and ultimately evolve into an enlightened being. Therefore, Lachrymology encourages confronting painful emotions and situations head on rather than avoiding them, for the sole purpose of learning from the experience. As crying can be cathartic, it is highly recommended as a form of therapy, and may be done individually, or in a group ‘cry-in.’
